I agree; in fact, I suspect that this will only happen by accident,
which is easy to do, because it can be hard to keep track of whether 
the line you're typing is #3 or #4, especially with many directive-lines
intervening between them.

I *am* using use %size now, since it works nicely in 1.10a, but I
have "legacy presentations" that still depend on creating
vertical gaps by manipulating %vgap.

So I'm wondering if one of the bugs you already fixed was the one
where a %vgap setting before a bullet-item affects the rendering
of the bullet (unlike 1.09), as detailed in my previous posting
of 1.10 bugs? (see http://teachmeperl.com/spugstats.jpg)

I hope so, because that bug affects my older presentations, and
undoubtedly those of others as well.
