(mgp-users 00276) imake problems

  I have isolated the problem of building magicpoint-1.07a. It's with imake.
Whether I use xmkmf or imake, I see errors like the following:

[root@salmo magicpoint-1.07a]# imake
sh: /tmp/fileavpE5y: Permission denied
Aborted

  This makes no sense to me, because root has rwx permissions to /tmp and to
any files created there.

  Can anyone help out with this? How about a binary or rpm for RH based on
the 1.07a release?

  The other problem (which sent me on this trouble-strewn path) is I cannot
see text when I try running any of the demos. The backgrounds (and the
occasional green box) show up, but no text. If I could get that running, I'd
forget about compiling 1.07a.

Anyone?
