Well the jng format is just that (a jpeg with an alpha channel), unfortunately
although you can display jng images with %anim (they are not anims but they are
supported through libmng) the alpha channel is still not supported. You should
use png instead. Of course that means solving your compilation problems. Can
you give more info:

libpng version

and other relevant stuff.
