Hi there,

finally found the solution to my probably too silly to answer it problem.
It seems that on the machines I tried out I only had 8 bit color, while
xwintoppm seems to require 16 bit color, at least, on a box where I had 16
bit color it worked. That's the only difference I can see, as I did a X
-broadcast to the original box.

A pitty though I can't use my Alpha UDB's for that but heck, you can't
have it all.

Have I missed this in the documentation or is 8 bit color outdated anyway
