  I took out the space between the `%include "default.mgp"' and `%page', and
the error message went away. But, I still see no text on the slides! I have
two blank slides (with the horizontal line in slightly different places) and
that's it.

  When I quit, there are no error messages.

  This has to be something simple, but it sure is frustrating to me. How
much more simple could this be?

  Oh, once I learn how to see the text I enter, I need to learn how to apply
a template so it looks nice.
