Please compare
   http://www.home.unix-ag.org/simon/gimp/systems/1024x768/mgp00014.html
vs.
   http://www.home.unix-ag.org/simon/gimp/systems/640x480/mgp00014.html

(sorry, only available in german...)

The different rendering introduces two new lines and the resulting page
is too big. (I used tabs to align the descriptions of the websites)

at
   http://www.home.unix-ag.org/simon/gimp/systems/1024x768/mgp00008.html
vs.

you can see, that the amount of indenting the lists is everything
but reliable. It seems, that the prefix should be better defined in %
of the screen width.

The defaults look like this

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
%%
%deffont "titel" tfont "trebucbd.ttf"
%deffont "standard" tfont "verdana.ttf"
%deffont "italic" tfont "verdanai.ttf"
%%
%% Default settings per each line numbers.
%%
%default 1 leftfill, size 5, vgap 12, hgap 0
%default 1 fore "white", back "black", font "standard"
%default 1 bimage "./back_wilber_tool.jpg" 1024x764
%default 1 pcache 1 1 0 50
%default 2 size 9, vgap 50, prefix " ", font "titel"
%default 3 size 4, vgap 0, font "standard"
%default 4 size 2, fore "white", vgap 70, prefix " ", font "standard"
%%
%% Default settings that are applied to TAB-indented lines.
%%
%tab -- size 1, vgap 0
%tab ----- size 2, vgap 70
%tab 1 size 5, vgap 70, prefix " "
%tab 2 size 4, vgap 70, prefix " ", icon arc "gray70" 40
%tab 3 size 3, vgap 70, prefix " ", icon delta3 "gray70" 40

BTW: The mgp default "hgap 5" is not good for most fonts. It should be 0.

Do you see my problem?

Bye,
        Simon
