it _could_ be a very good idea and not an editor's job.
E.g. Say you have a long presentation from which you need quickly to
extract a small number of representative slides (e.g. summary,
conclusions, and skip demonstrations or details on each topic...)
The way i see it most useful and possibly simple to implement is
to let %page's be tagged with an arbitrary identifier, and a command
like
%dontshow ident1 ident2 ident3 ...
because commenting out each page might still require some tedious
editing and referring to pages by numbers is very hard.
