That highly depends on the order of the X-fontpath. MagicPoint uses the
first font it founds that name is like what you requested.
But font names like "Arial" are used quite often, so it is a game of
luck if you get a scaled and blocky raster-font or an antialiased
vector-font.
My solution was to enable the xfont directive to take also the
font-foundry. With this you can do something like:
%deffont "std" xfont "-urw-Avantgarde-book-r"
And this will look absolut identical on all machines with this font
installed - regardless of other fonts or the fontpath.
