(mgp-users 00493) problems using latin2 (iso8859-2) characters in xfont

Hi!

I like mgp and I think it is verry nice. I however have a problem. I cannot
display latin2 characters in the latest version that came with debian
(unstable) or with the one I compiled from the latest source. This is what I
have set up as defaultfont:
%deffont "thick" xfont "courier-bold-r" "iso8859-2"
%deffont "standard" xfont "courier-medium-r" "iso8859-2"
%deffont "typewriter" xfont "courier-medium-r" "iso8859-2"
or:
%deffont "thick" xfont "-adobe-courier-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-2"
%deffont "standard" xfont "-adobe-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-2"
%deffont "typewriter" xfont "-adobe-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-2"

None of the above display the correct font when either:
font "standard", font "thick" or font "typewriter" is used.

The errors I get are quite weird:
can't load font size 33 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:33:NULL>, glyph 0x00c8
can't load font size 33 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:33:NULL>, glyph 0x00a9
can't load font size 14 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:14:NULL>, glyph 0x00b9
can't load font size 14 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:14:NULL>, glyph 0x00fc
can't load font size 33 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:33:NULL>, glyph 0x00c8
can't load font size 33 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:33:NULL>, glyph 0x00a9
can't load font size 14 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:14:NULL>, glyph 0x00b9
can't load font size 14 (nor font in similar size) for font
<times-medium-r:14:NULL>, glyph 0x00fc

Can anyone tell me how to make it display latin2 (iso8859-2) characters?
My mgp version is mgp-1.07a.20010212 (mgp -v says mgp version 1.07a
(20000309)), compiled with --enable-imlib --disable-vflib --enable-locale, I am
running debian GNU/Linux version sid (unstable) on kernel 2.4.2.
