A simple way is to use different displlays, then using ctrl+alt+fn
keys you change easily between displays.
ctrl+alt+f0 (console)
ctrl+alt+f1 :0
oppss ctrl+alt+f7
ctrl+alt+f8 :1
ctrl+alt+f9 :2
