start mgp with '-O'. Maybe you've to tell your window manager to remove the
window decoration for mgp. Depending on your WM preferences you can move
your mouse over the app or click into it for changing the focus to this app.

keyboard focus always on mgp, mouse focus on some app? no, not AFAIK.
