How to get the venue/hotels

Hotels

In "Mita Miyako hotel", each single room has 14m^2 with a RJ11 dataport. If you perfer a larger room like major U.S. hotels, you may choose hotels in Shinagawa area. The distance to the meeting venue is less than 1 mile and it should be within walking distance if it is not rainy. You can take a taxi to the venue at about 660 yen from one of Shinagawa area hotels.

Please note that "Miyako Hotel" and "Mita Miyako Hotel" are *different* property of Miyako Hotel chain. Don't be confused. If you accidentally get "(Radisson) Miyako Hotel", take taxi to get "Mita Miyako Hotel" at around 1,000 yen.

Transportation

In most cases, you will touch down at New Tokyo International Airport. It is also called as Narita Airport and its three letter code is NRT. In busy hours, your flight may be forced to hold a moment to order the arrivals and departures into its only one runway.

In New Tokyo International Airport, there are two terminal buildings. If your airline is one of AA, AF, AY, AZ, BA, CX, KE, KL, NW, RG, SQ, UA, TN, or VS, you will arrive at Terminal-1. Otherwise you will arrive at Terminal-2. All transportation services including trains stop both terminals. For the trains and buses toward downtown Tokyo, they leave from Terminal-1 first so the departure from Terminal-2 is a min later or two.

There are several ways to get Mita Miyako Hotel or any hotels in Shinagawa area. Unless you're congestion lovers, you should avoid to use rent-a-car. Cars run left side of road like United Kingdom. As Japanese rent-a-car companies do not offer weekly rate, it is very expensive. If you don't care about the cost, taxi is a candidate. It takes you to any downtown destinations including Mita Miyako Hotel in 50-70 min while it costs about 22,000 yen plus highway charges (about 25,000 yen).
